Bio: Born and raised in the Portland area, my first exposure to Oregon wine was early when my parents would drive out to cut down a Christmas tree someplace in the valley, stopping at the few wineries we'd come across. I came to Sokol Blosser after graduating with a degree in fine arts from Lewis & Clark College with an emphasis in environmental art, my interests in environmentalism and good local wine leading the way here.

Hobbies: Spending too much money collecting wine, biking around town, geeking out on various things (art history, computers, wine, etc.), painting and drawing, and home-processing the film from my Holga.
What you like about Pinot Noir: It's an honest varietal. A good Pinot Noir will tell you everything: the history of the soil it was planted in, whether it was a cool or warm or rainy vintage. Pinot Noir has a good memory- it will tell you whether it was handled with gentle respect from vine to bottle, or whether it was roughed up along the way. It can honestly transmit every aspect of its existence to its most heightened effect, but only if you let it speak for itself.
Favorite Food: I will try just about anything once, and I love to cook at home or check out what the local restaurants are serving up. I'm a sucker for whatever looks good at the farmers market.
Place You'd Like to Travel To: Everywhere! I've only been to a handful of places in North America and Europe, and wish I had the time and money to see it all. Currently I'm working on seeing every corner of Oregon before I move on beyond that.
Favorite Drink Besides Wine: Oregon is microbrew paradise, so there is always a good beer to be found nearly anywhere you look. I also love the seasonal fruit sodas made by Hot Lips Pizza in Portland.
